PHOTOS FOR CARNIVORE

I've always loved taking photos since I got my first camera in the seventh grade, and I've always done it on the side whenever I found the time. Most of these end up on the blog, but I'm excited to say that I was able to do some restaurant photography for Carnivore, a paleo-themed 21+ bar/restaurant in Ballard, and it'll be up on their website and Instagram.

It's not often that my work appears on other parts of the Internet, so it's really cool that I was able to do this. The food at this place is really good, so if you're old enough and have the time, definitely check them out!

FILM FLASHBACK (SUMMER 2016)

I finally got some film developed! Towards the end of summer 2016, I wanted to experiment a bit more with photography, so I bought some cheap film from Amazon and just started snapping around. I approached this with a different mindset than had I taken these photos with my DSLR. Though I had to put more thought into each photo (there are only 24 shots in a roll and developing isn't cheap), I set my mind to capturing the world around me as I saw it. 

There is something so beautifully raw about photographing with film, and in a way I loved not being able to instantly see the end result. Of course I was naturally curious as to what it would look like, but  it helped me focus on the photographing process itself, as well as living in the moment instead of obsessively trying to capture it. I would've gotten these done before summer had ended, but I procrastinated and didn't end up getting these two rolls developed until nearly seven months after I took the photos (which is bad, I know).

I definitely want to keep shooting film and trying out new films and techniques this upcoming summer, so I'm really excited to see how that will turn out. I'll be putting the rest of this set of photos into a portfolio I'm putting together and maybe my Flickr.
