VOLUNTEER PARK CONSERVATORY

There's this small park in North Seattle that has the dreamiest conservatory ever, so my little sister and I drove down on Easter morning to take some photos inside the greenhouse. I had always told myself I'd visit this place for photos, and I can finally cross that off after years on the to-do list! Nothing says spring quite like fresh, blooming flowers, and nothing symbolizes a fresh start better than spring.

I wish I could have stayed in this conservatory all day, just walking around and appreciating nature. Living in such a vibrant/green city, it's hard to ignore how beautiful everything looks once this season rolls around. Suddenly everything's blooming, and we occasionally start seeing that "sun" thing once in a while peeking from behind the clouds.

With how sad the past few months have been, I hope the rest of the season brings better things.

CHERRY BLOSSOM

-A WEEK IN BLOOM-

You only ever really realize it's spring here in Seattle when you've found yourself surrounded with flowers and sneezing like crazy (thanks, allergies). And luckily, we've got our own collection of cherry blossoms right here in the University. Walking down the path along the quad every day has made it impossible for me to ignore the beautiful trees, and I  knew I had to take the opportunity and take photos of them.

So in between studying for finals and coffee runs, Alex and I managed to snap up a couple pictures early enough before tourists came along to fill up the quad. The cherry blossoms only bloom for a week or two, and I'm grateful to have been able to see them before I headed out for spring break!

BLOOMIN' FLOWERS

-A CHANGE IN WEATHER-

Spring is here! And with that means flowers are blooming, skies are clearing up (or not), and people are trading in their parkas for light jackets. But don't be fooled--while the sun seems to be out for a bit longer, there's an undeniable chill in the air... Besides, most of us are cooped up indoors cramming for finals and panicking about essay portfolios anyway.
Unfortunately for me, though, I'm also indoors trying to cope with my stuffy nose and watery eyes. This makes for a bad time to try new spring makeup! While my body turns against me in this weather (curse you, allergies!), I can sleep peacefully knowing that the trees are pink and the sky is (mostly) blue.
