FLANNEL FRIDAY

Finally it's Friday and it's been a week and a half of my attempts of being social. I'd consider my endeavors successful and as stupid as it may sound, I'm proud of myself for trying and talking to people, which should really be a basic human skill, but I was never one for it.  Today was a half day, so I wore my sister's super comfy Forever21 not-flannel flannel shirt. It's made of dress shirt material with a flannel-y pattern, and with the cloudy weather today, I felt like I finally belonged to the Pacific Northwest.

I actually made plans today with my friend Alina, and after school we ended up going to a local coffeehouse down by the ferry. We got lattes and sandwiches to celebrate the end of the month and making it through a mildly stressful week. I just wish it wasn't so crowded so I could have taken proper photos! It had a perfect view of the water and the ferry leading to Whidbey Island.

We went back to my house and baked some chocolate-chip brownies, which didn't end up looking like the most attractive food ever, but it tasted good and was great while watching How to Get Away With Murder. I wouldn't exactly call ourselves the worst bakers ever, but we did have to drive back to the store to buy eggs because we ran out of ingredients.

Overall, this past week has been incredibly hectic due to friends, family, and school, but somehow knowing that I got through it in one piece while accomplishing my academic and social goals feels oh-so-rewarding.
