BURGERS AND BEACHES

One of the best perks of having Alex as a boyfriend is that we share the same affinity for burgers. It was his birthday just under a week ago, so I decided to take him out to dinner. Of course, he ended up choosing Diamond Knot, a restaurant by the water that also has a brewery (but we're under 21, so that wasn't part of the dinner haha). I had never been there, especially since once my family decides that a place is good, we tend to stick to that place and keep from trying anything new. Lucky for me, he happened to like a restaurant that I wasn't familiar with. So after hanging out at home with our siblings, we drove down to the beach to grab dinner.

We spent just a couple minutes walking around the beach to appreciate the sunset and take a photo or two of the sunset, then we headed inside since we were both definitely feeling hungry after a full day of lounging around at home and driving back and forth between houses (tutoring, etc.).

MAC AND CHEESE

True to myself and my loves, I had to get the Mac and Cheese version of a burger (can you tell that I'm super healthy?). I never really thought that I'd like mac and cheese, especially since I had only really tasted the Kraft-instant type that came in little packets with artificial cheese. But ever since my parents bought the Costco oven kind, I swear that I fell in love with this food. And that's an understatement. I feel connections with that food like no other. So deep-fry some mac and cheese and throw it between a patty and a burger bun? Yes please. (And I realize that that sounds kind of gross if you're full/don't like this food). Alex decided to get a "Paul Bunyan" burger, which was sort of a breakfast-y one where they put corned beef and egg... sounds like a Filipino breakfast mixed with American lunch food!

As we sat there eating and talking, Alex noticed some of our closest friends walk past the restaurant on the opposite side of the street-- something unusual, considering it was 9PM and he just happened to be looking outside the window at that exact moment (#destiny?). So we called them up and we all made faces at each other as all four of our friends peered at us through the window.

Overall, it's been a fun, productive day filled with food and friends!
