INAUGURATION DAY

I don't usually post politics on social media as I've always found myself more of an observer than an activist, but I guess I'm breaking that rule and posting a bit about the recent election. I headed downtown after my classes yesterday to watch a rally, but I ended up running into another protest on the way to the parking lot at my school.

UW is amazing in that it's not afraid to speak its mind (from people of all perspectives). Students protested all day and all night, and I find myself in the midst of all this. History is being made, and I am lucky enough to be able to photograph it. Above are some photos from the beginning of the Seattle downtown rally, and below are the UW protests (before it turned violent).

I am grateful to be able to experience history in the making (minus the violence that ended up happening later on in the night on campus), and it was a good reminder of our responsibility to protect human rights.
