I think the cherry blossoms looked better this year than the last, but unfortunately it's been a little rainier, too. The flowers are more vibrant, and it seemed that all the trees in Seattle happened to bloom all at once. It's been hard to appreciate them fully when you're feeling so down, but somehow they were still able to lift my mood up a small bit-- if the city feels alive, why shouldn't I?
Last year was a lot colder during March/April, so I'm glad the weather seems to be warming up, but you can't really trust Washington weather. I remember waking up at 7 to take last year's photos, scrambling in and out of a thick winter coat between shots and struggling with numb fingers and cameras (#behindthescenes).
I wish they lasted longer during the spring and that we had clearer skies so that I had a better opportunity to take more photos, but sometimes just appreciating nature without photographs is nice too.
