I don't like cake, but you can sign me up for ice cream on honey toast. On Friday afternoon, my friend Hannah and I headed downtown to the International District to this place called HardWok Cafe to catch up on all things life, school, and food. We had been wanting to visit this place for a little while, and thankfully we were able to find time!
After ordering some Taiwanese popcorn chicken, we each ordered a honey toast (which in hindsight could have probably fed four people). It ended up being a lot more massive than I imagined, and I was only able to finish a little more than half, but it was so worth it. I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet foods, which is why I never had an affinity for cake, but this Strawberry Custard Honey Toast was just the right amount of sweetness in all the right places.
I think I'm going to lay off the sweets for a little while, but next time I'm celebrating something, I know where to get dessert.
