MAJOR UPDATE

Goals, goals, goals! Anybody who takes the time to get to know me is well-aware of my workaholic nature. When I'm not at school (or in the summer, my full-time job), you can usually find me working on personal projects in a corner of my room. It's officially been a full year since I've set my mind to a particular goal: getting into a specific major at UW.

It was around this time in 2016 that I decided I wanted to pursue Human-Centered Design and Engineering. So for over 12 months, I've just been focusing and working towards this goal. And after a countless number of sleepless nights working on homework, websites, and app designs, I'm excited and proud to say that I've accepted the UW College of Engineering's offer of admission into the program!

Freshman year was tough since I was unsure of what I wanted to study. My heart really wasn't in the classes I was taking, and I was growing disinterested in my current studies. So when I found a major that was a balance between the technical and creative aspects of technology, I was more than excited to put my best foot forward. In the past year, I was able to make a few of my ideas come to life through building websites, editing this blog theme, and some prototyping. I have a little portfolio that's undergoing construction right now (it looks a little rough), but if you would like to check it out, here's a link:

CHECK OUT MY WORK

To be honest, I don't think I've worked harder for anything else in my life, and while I faced a large setback in the spring, I'm happy that I had enough support from the people around me to help me keep going. I was close to believing that hard work doesn't pay off, but I'm glad to be proven wrong. While I know that I'm going to have to work even harder now that I'm in the program, I'm excited for this opportunity, and couldn't be more thankful.
